When Someone's Out to Get You
By Marty Nemko
You're not being paranoid. Let's say someone is out to get you. Maybe it's your rival for that promotion, or your boss who never did like you. In any event, that person is bad-mouthing you to higher-ups, dragging his feet on anything you request, and in general, doing what he can to make you look bad.
What can you do today?Kathleen Reardon, author of The Secret Handshake suggests you "inoculate" yourself against such attacks. Tell others that you know of the person's attempts to discredit you, and his motive. Having been so apprised, they may well be more skeptical of such comments in the future.
