Train Your Boss
By Marty Nemko
Yes, in the first week or two, you may need to work long hours to get up to speed, but as soon as possible, try to get down to a workweek you're willing to sustain. If, to impress your boss, you work 60-hour weeks and, months later, start to slow down, your boss may think you've lost interest in the job. Occasionally, we all have to give up an evening or a Saturday, but if you want to work moderate hours, start conditioning your boss to accept that early on. Compensate by keeping him aware of all your accomplishments.© Marty Nemko 2004-2024. Usage Rights
