The Career I'd Choose if Starting Over

Plant geneticists have created high-protein grain that is saving countless lives in developing countries. Plant geneticists are also conducting experiments to help understand how humans develop from one cell into adults--crucial to helping prevent and cure disease. These plant experiments answer these questions less expensively and more ethically than animal studies. As a plant lover who likes intellectual challenges and who wants to make a difference, if I were starting over, plant geneticist is probably the career I'd choose.
