America's Biggest Time Waster?
By Marty Nemko
Time management expert, Donald Wetmore, estimates that 17 million meetings are conducted in the U.S. every day, and he believes they're "probably one of the top institutional time wasters." He urges us to always ask, "Is this meeting necessary?" "Do I contribute anything to this meeting?" "Do I get anything of value from this meeting?" If the answer is "no," try to find a way out of attending. And if you're in a position to schedule meetings, be ruthless about minimizing their quantity and length. Your co-workers will be more productive--and more likely to appreciate you.© Marty Nemko 2004-2024. Usage Rights
